So, the last year has completely taken all of us by surprise. Musically, I've been spending a lot more time than usual experimenting, learning, and producing music than previous years. I am going to take a little time and write down what I've been playing with.

Reason 11 Suite

Bought Suite, then started watching live streams by Adam Fielding. Learned a lot about how to use Reason from that guy. It's all about blocks and arranging. Starting with the original egg of a song, a 8 or 16 bar set of layers of things, then popping that in a block, maybe making a B block, rarely making a C block, then unwrapping the package by arranging the blocks. Nice little workflow, actually. Add some automation, mix the track.

Reason Studios then release Reason Plus. A subscription model. I evaluated it, but I already own nearly all of the rack extensions, and have a subscription for 3rd party rack extensions already. So, I'll likely just stick with that for now.

Live Streaming Complex-1

I've now done 40 live streams that focus on Complex-1, a modular software synth that is part of the Reason Suite. At first, I had no idea how to make a patch using Complex-1, and now I feel like I have a decent grasp of it. I've made a decent range of patches, and will release them in another post here.

Tracks

I've made a number of tracks, all experimental electronic music. I'll drop a bunch of those here. I mainly make music to have something I like to listen to. I've since found a few artists that have similar music, out there. Not really pop music, that's for sure.
