Propellerhead, the company that makes the Reason 10 DAW recently released the Complex-1 soft analog synth. Initially I was somewhat of a skeptic that it would have a sound anywhere near what analog synthesizers can do, but after playing with it and watching the great in-depth tutorial by DivKid on youtube I bought the synth and started playing with it.
For the first two weeks or so, I wasn't able to get much going besides some strange sounds.
Then, the following weekend, I spent a few hours wiring the synth up, and figuring out what things were doing by watching a minute or so of DivKid's video, then seeing how to replicate those wires. This ended up with a fairly strange little experimental piece of music.
